Know your heater
Before your first session, get familiar with the key parts of your HEY WAXXUP!
Before you start
A little prep makes a big difference. Do these three things first.
1 Check hair length
Hair should be around 5mm long (about the size of a grain of rice). Too short and the wax won't grip. Too long and it hurts more.
2 Clean & dry the skin
Wash the area with gentle soap and pat completely dry. Oils, lotions, and sweat all reduce wax grip.
3 Patch test first
Always test on a small patch of skin (like inner arm) before your first full session. Wait 24 hours to check for any reaction.
How to use HEY WAXXUP!
Eight simple steps for a smooth waxing session. Your Aloe Vera cartridge is pre-loaded in the kit.
1 Remove seal and insert cartridge
Remove the lid from the heater. Peel off the protective seal from the roller head of the Aloe Vera cartridge, then place the cartridge into the heater chamber with the roller facing up.
2 Plug in to power on
Plug the power cord into the heater and into a wall socket. The red indicator light will turn on, showing that the heater has started warming up.
3 Heat for about 15 minutes
Let the wax heat up for approximately 15 minutes. Use the viewing window on the side to check if the wax has fully melted.
4 Prime the roller on a strip
Before applying to skin, roll the cartridge onto a fabric wax strip. This primes the roller so the wax flows evenly and smoothly through the roller head.
5 Apply to skin
Hold the heater in your hand and roll the wax onto the area, following the direction of hair growth. Apply a thin, even layer.
6 Press the strip and pull
Place a fabric strip on top of the wax. Press firmly with your palm, then quickly pull the strip in the opposite direction of hair growth. For best results, pull the strip horizontally, not upward.
7 Clean up with post wipes
After waxing, use the provided post wipes to remove any wax residue from your skin.
8 Unplug when finished
Once you are done, unplug the heater from the power source. Let it cool completely before cleaning or storing.
Pro Tip
Press your palm flat on the waxed area right after pulling. The pressure calms the sting almost instantly.
Swapping cartridges
When your Aloe Vera cartridge runs out, swap in the Honey refill. Always let the heater cool completely before swapping.
How to swap
1. Unplug the heater and let it cool fully (about 30 minutes).
2. Remove the lid and lift out the used cartridge.
3. Peel off the protective seal on the new Honey cartridge.
4. Slide the new cartridge in with the roller head facing up, then replace the lid.
5. Plug back in and heat for 15 minutes. Prime the roller on a strip before applying to skin.
How long per area

Aftercare for smooth, happy skin
What you do after waxing matters just as much as the waxing itself.
Cool & soothe
Apply a cool compress or aloe vera gel to calm the skin. Redness for a few hours is normal.
Skip these for 24 to 48 hours
No hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, swimming pools, gym workouts, or direct sun exposure. Skip tight clothing and heavy fragranced lotions too. Your pores need time to close.
Exfoliate from day 3
Gentle exfoliation 2-3 times a week prevents ingrown hairs and keeps skin smooth between waxes.
Cleaning & storage
Clean the exterior
Unplug and let the heater cool completely. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth. Remove wax residue with a little baby oil on a cotton pad.
Store cartridges properly
Keep unused cartridges upright in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Sealed cartridges can last 24+ months.
Troubleshooting
Quick fixes for the most common issues.
Wax isn't melting after 15 minutes
Most likely cause: Cold ambient temperature or a fresh cartridge. Give it another 5 to 10 minutes.
Still not melting? Check the power cord is firmly connected on both ends and the red indicator light is on. Try a different wall socket.
Wax is too hot / burning sensation
Unplug immediately and wait 5-10 minutes for the wax to cool.
Always do a wrist test before applying to other areas. If wax stings on your wrist, it's too hot.
Wax won't stick or pulls off cleanly without hair
Check these:
· Skin must be completely dry and oil-free.
· Hair must be at least 5mm long.
· Wax may be too cool — let it heat another 5 minutes.
· Press the strip down firmly 2-3 times before pulling.
Wax residue left on my skin
Wipe the area with baby oil, coconut oil, or a post-wax oil. Avoid hot water or soap alone, as wax is oil-soluble not water-soluble.
Roller is stuck or not rotating smoothly
The roller may have hardened wax around it. Let the cartridge heat fully first. If it still doesn't roll, the cartridge may be low — try a new one.
Red bumps or irritation after waxing
Mild redness is normal and usually fades within a few hours. Apply aloe vera and avoid hot showers, gym, or tight clothes for 24 hours. If irritation lasts longer than 48 hours, stop use and consult a doctor.
Safety first
Read these before your first session and keep them in mind every time.
- Always patch test before first use.
- Never leave the heater unattended while plugged in.
- Keep out of reach of children. The heater stays hot for a long time after use.
- Do not use if the power cord or plug is damaged. Do not operate if the appliance has been dropped or damaged.
- Do not place or store the appliance where it can fall into a tub or sink.
- Never place the heater in water or any liquid. Keep the surrounding area dry.
- If the appliance falls into water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water.
- Do not wrap the cord around the appliance while in use.
- Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not use on broken, irritated, sunburnt, or recently shaved skin.
- Do not wax over moles, warts, varicose veins, or skin tags.
- Avoid waxing if you are on Accutane, Retin-A, or blood thinners.
- Place the heater on a flat, stable, heat-safe surface only.
- Unplug after use. Let the heater cool completely before cleaning or storing.

Important
Stop use immediately if you experience swelling, severe redness, or allergic reaction. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist beyond 48 hours.
Frequently asked
What is the difference between the Aloe Vera and Honey cartridges?
Aloe Vera is designed for sensitive skin. It is cooling, gentle, and ideal for first-time users or delicate areas like the bikini line. Your kit comes with this cartridge pre-loaded.
Honey is a classic all-rounder suited for most skin types and larger areas like legs and arms. Use this as your refill once the Aloe Vera runs out.
Which cartridge should I use first?
The Aloe Vera cartridge is pre-loaded and ready to go, so start there. Once it runs out, swap in the Honey refill following the swap instructions above.
How often should I wax?
Every 3 to 4 weeks on average. Hair needs to grow back to about 5mm before the next session for best results.
Will hair grow back thinner?
With regular waxing, many users find hair grows back finer and more sparsely over time. Results vary by person.
Can I reuse the fabric strips?
Yes, until they stop gripping. Usually 2 to 3 pulls per strip before the wax saturates the fabric.
How long does one cartridge last?
One cartridge is enough for a full leg wax or several underarm and bikini sessions. Cartridges are for personal use only. Do not share or refill.
Can I use this on my face?
We do not recommend the roller for full face use. Facial skin is more delicate and needs a smaller, more precise applicator. The upper lip and chin can be waxed by experienced users, but avoid the area around the eyes and eyebrows.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
Waxing is generally considered safe during pregnancy, but skin can be more sensitive. Check with your doctor and always patch test before a full session.
